Cisco TelePresence MCU 5300 Series

Cisco TelePresence MCU 5300 Series is the server of a multipoint conference (MCU) scaled depending on requirements and the size of video network.

The device belongs to the first available MCU with the increased hardware and supplements a line between models with the fixed set of ports of the MCU 4200/4500 series and a line of MSE. A system is focused on requirements of the enterprises of small and medium business.

Joint connection of two Cisco TelePresence MCU 5300 devices can double capacity. Together with a reduced model of licensing it allows from the very beginning even in small networks to benefit from efficiency of MCU and if necessary it is easy to execute scaling. It provides protection of initial investments and does possible expansion of the central components without long idle times of services simple more than ever.

The server can be flexibly configured by licenses for gradual increase in capacity. As much as possible the server supports up to 20 subscribers 1080p on one device (MCU 5320). Creation of a cluster from two servers is possible. In a series 2 models of servers: MCU 5310 and MCU 5320.

MCU 5300 helps to implement individual change of a format and data stream rate for each participant that gives the chance to use terminal devices of different producers within one conference.

The solution supports video transmission of high definition in the Full HD formats (1080p with a frequency of 30 frames per second) and HD (720p with a frequency of 60 frames per second), standard permission of SD. Besides, in MCU 5300 support of permission of nHD, new to the products Cisco, (360p), optimal for videophones is implemented. The server works with H.261, H.263, H.263+, H.263 video standards ++ and H.264, provides capacity to 4 Mbps for each subscriber in all conference modes.

The MCU 5300 server is equipped a number of the technologies developed by Cisco for TelePresence product line. In particular, the Cisco TelePresence Multiway technology gives ample opportunities of holding big conferences, effective use of bandwidth, soft junction at any time from the point-to-point connection to multipoint connection. Universal Port allows to provide to each participant of a condition and the modes which are best corresponding to its equipment and a communication channel. And the PacketSafe technology minimizes effects of loss of network packets. Also new server is completely compatible to the software of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco TelePresence Management Suite and Cisco TelePresence Conductor.

Accumulation of capacity of the solution is made using adding of program licenses for ports. Each license allows to connect 1 FullHD, 2 HD or 4 SD terminals, depending on a server operation mode. At the maximum quantity of licenses for ports the server allows to provide 10 HD, 5 FullHD, 20 SD and 24 nHD-ports (20 HD, 10 FullHD, 40 SD and 48 nHD-ports in the senior model of a line of MCU 5320).
