Cloud of DEAC

The European operator of data centers of DEAC started in the spring of 2014 a cloud solution for the Russian business — implementation for the end user takes few hours, the scalability of the solution has broad range.

The main task of any business — to solve today assigned tasks in most short time, otherwise there is an essential probability of leaving from the market. The cloud solution of DEAC guarantees to business start of the necessary software up to several hours and reliable remote work with the placed data in a cloud of DEAC from any place in the world.

Any company independently can flexibly and dynamically manage now resources of the cloud of DEAC selected with it parts, create the necessary number of virtual machines "on the fly" and change their configuration as required, configuring each virtual machine under specific requirements in specific timepoint. For example, in a cloud of DEAC it is easier, than ever, to manage processes of accounting and trade, to store and process different data.

The cloud of DEAC is provided with multistage reservation of all components of a cloud in different data centers of DEAC — the Juniper firewalls protecting a cloud from threats from the outside, the computing powers provided by a line of HP servers and a storage system of HP 3PAR of StoreServ 7400, at the same time the data exchange rate in a cloud makes 40 Gbps. Starting capacity of a cloud of DEAC is 200 terabytes today (1 terabyte (TB) = 1,024 GB), within a year the expected increase in capacity will reach 3-4 thousand terabytes that in volume makes about 15 billion books.

Technical parameters of a cloud of DEAC — the system of virtualization

The hardware platform of a cloud of DEAC is constructed on the equipment of vendors of HP and Juniper, and program — on the solution of VMware, in case of unusual situations a first line support is guaranteed. Since launch the cloud of DEAC functions 24 hours a day in different data centers of DEAC, in case of suspension of work of one of them the continuity of work of a cloud will not fall lower than 99.995%.

The cloud of DEAC is protected from the external attacks and threats by a cascade of Juniper firewalls including from DDoS attacks, formation of VPN channels and connection of other network services for clients is provided. The cloud in a starting configuration consists of 20 HP servers of DL360p Gen8, several Juniper switches and two storage systems (SS) of HP3PAR StoreServ 7400. Increase in number of the equipment of a cloud is almost not limited. By DWH it is implemented on the different disks SAS, SATA and SSD that allows to distribute evenly loading in a cloud at data exchange and as a result does a cloud energy saving.

Data exchange in a cloud is measured by tens of gigabits per second, and at remote connection of clients to a cloud the speed and a type of connection is defined depending on the client's tasks. The general width of transmission of DEAC channels across Europe, Russia and the USA is almost not limited.

The software platform of a cloud of DEAC is implemented on the software of VMware vSphere 5.5, this version is the most functional and allows to implement different complex IT tasks of clients.
