2013: Cloudera Enterprise 5 beta release

On October 29, 2013 the Cloudera company announced an exit of Cloudera Enterprise 5 beta release.

In the next beta of the Cloudera Enterprise 5 distribution kit the new tools helping Hadoop are implemented to undertake storage of all corporate data. Developers of the version of Apache Hadoop 2 with the open code on which Cloudera Enterprise is based, added to it the resource manager of YARN allowing to work with different analytical applications and not just with those which use package processes of MapReduce. The Cloudera company created the platform for connection of third-party analytical applications too. It is supported some programs of SAS, Revolution Analytics, Syncsort and other developers.

In Cloudera Enterprise 5 buffering of data of the HDFS file system in a working storage of the server is implemented that should accelerate accomplishment of requests. Cloudera Navigator which was initially serving for security audit of data is completely integrated for data management now.

Cloudera Enterprise 5 includes YARN (Yet Another Resource Negotiator), the advanced technology of approval of resources which is built in Hadoop 2.2 for management of multiple resources. New management tools data and reportings and functions of audit improve possibilities of integrated management and observance of regulatory requirements. Also security and data protection thanks to the new centralized functionality implemented through Cloudera Manager and Cloudera Navigator is improved.
