The domestic developer Cognitive Technologies announced in April, 2011 a fast output to the market of processing system of business documents with rare properties - Cognitive ScanPack. A system is intended for the solution of traditional tasks: scannings, processings and compression of documents. However in it several technology features which essentially distinguish it from the existing analogs are applied.
New analysis algorithms of images became a basic innovation of ScanPack. The most significant properties which thanks to them appeared in a system in the company call work with documents with complex structure (a large number of printings over the text) and with the spoiled background ("soiled, shabby, with the design documentation which is filled in with lubricating oil"). After processing the document returns to ScanPack in "acceptable visual quality".
Use for archiving of the PDF/A format allows to squeeze the initial document till 4-10 times. In the final file text search is possible.
ScanPack automates process of digitization of documentation from a scanning stage before compression. Believe in Cognitive that properties of a system do it especially suitable for work with business documents.
In Cognitive ScanPack color and geometrical segmentation which allows to select in the document several "information layers" thanks to what it is capable to process the text when imposing on it of printing or the signature, at a text inking a felt-tip pen, at striking out or at strong "noise" because of a background of paper, artifacts of photocopying or greasy spots is applied.
Breakdown of the document on independent layers is important during the work with documents in which the background is significant, for example, when processing passports.
In June, 2011 Cognitive Technologies and Panasonic Rus signed the agreement on strategic cooperation. Within the agreement the lingering Panasonic KV-S5055C and KV-S4085CW/KV scanners will be completed with the Cognitive ScanPack system capable to distinguish up to ten different layers of the document (the handwritten and printing text, pictures, a stamp background and so forth) and to separately squeeze them. It will be the first industrial application of technology of the Russian company.
In addition, on the Panasonic KVSS080 scanners the Cognitive Passport system capable for several seconds to recognize identity documents will be installed. Cognitive Technologies claims that the Cognitive ScanPack technology provides the best results of compression of graphic images of documents for today, and Cognitive Passport is the highest speed of recognition of identification documents.
It is expected that the combination of the software of Cognitive to scanners of Panasonic will enjoy popularity in the growing market of state orders.
