2023: Product Announcement
The Moscow Production Association (MPO) Metalist announced the creation of a bionic knee prosthesis with microprocessor control. The product was named "Comet."
It is intended for users of prostheses with medium and high levels of motor activity. The microprocessor built into the prosthesis collects and processes data in real time at a speed of more than a thousand times per second, and the neural network predicts the rhythm and pattern of walking, which allows you to use the prosthesis in various options - from a calm step to easy running.
According to the developers, the durable prosthesis body is made by additive printing from a unique domestic alloy RS-553 and protects electronic components from deformations and mechanical breakdowns. Also in the MPO "Metalist" pay attention to the fact that the module is able to work from one charge for 10 days, which is a record figure.
It is noted that doctors, rehabilitologists, prostheses and users of prostheses to developers participated in the process of creating the knee module. Thanks to this, it was possible to create a device that meets the requirements of end consumers, and in some respects - superior to global counterparts. The start of mass production of the product is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.
The need for prosthetics in the Russian market is high. Previously, products came from abroad. Now we produce components for prostheses at Rostec enterprises, successfully performing import substitution measures. Our products, including those that have no Russian analogues, are comparable to the best foreign samples and are optimal in terms of value for money, "said Maxim Vybornykh, Deputy General Director of Rostec.[1] |
