Communications Server ‘14’

The Microsoft company submitted the new version of the solution for the joint communications code-named of Communications Server '14'. Thanks to integration into office applications the new product will help users to communicate easily with each other, making calls, participating in teleconferences, transferring video or instant messages directly from the usual programs installed on the computer. Innovations are designed to expand, simplify and to considerably reduce the price of corporate communications. Communication Server ‘14’ will become available in the second half of 2010, in Russia - at once in Russian.

The new version of OCS '14' is the communication solution including both corporate telephony, and usual already powerful messaging application Communicator, using infrastructure of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Exchange in the work. Communications Server ‘14’ is the universal platform with ability to integrate practically into any of the available applications.

Communications Server ‘14’ also allows to find experts in the company thanks to a new search capability "on skills", to see when and where colleagues are available to communication, to involve them in the general workflow regardless of where they are. Besides, the new version of OCS '14' gives an opportunity to integrate documents, resources and people for the joint work almost not different from real-life communication.

"Implementation of our concept of the joint communications gave a big impetus to the market. The special software which implemented new opportunities of telephony and interactive interaction and provided faster deployment in comparison with the systems of the previous generations which were tied to certain devices is the cornerstone of the solution, – Ann Veyler, the director of division of promotion of the system Office, Microsoft in Russia told. – Customers and partners in Russia, such as, for example, SoftLine, I-Teco, Ai Ti Sistemz, CROC began to use actively our solutions for the joint communications, having quickly seen their value".

Three years ago Microsoft changed the principle of communications, having transferred them from the separate vertical systems on the integrated platform on the basis of the special software. Microsoft also read the forecast that in the next three years joint work of staff of any company will be based in many respects on technologies of "the connected communications". According to Microsoft, 90% of all business applications will have the built-in solutions for the joint communications, and normal phone calls will consign to the past. More than 50% of calls will be made using the VoIP-telephony including more than just voice transmission.

To the declaration of readiness the solutions Communications Server '14' at the VoiceCon 12 conference of Microsoft partners were announced by the new products and services expanding possibilities of the new version of the joint communications. Among these new products there are inexpensive IP phones, solutions increasing stability of office telephone exchanges, and a system for telephone recording. Besides, more than 75% of the companies presenting the products at an exhibition within VoiceCon already started development of solutions for the Communications Server '14' platform.
