2023: Product Announcement

Russia has developed software to determine the owners of Telegram channels. It was called "Comrade Major." This is a product of T.Hunter.

As Izvestia was told in the press service of the National Technological Initiative (NTI), a basic anthology of methods and techniques that a specialist uses when researching a Telegram channel was developed, and then the program was trained in these techniques. This process includes collecting information about administrators from the description of the channel, its backups, posts, and obtaining metadata of published files. The neural network analyzes data leaks, but it does it faster and better than a person, the developers emphasized.

Developed software to determine the owners of channels in Telegram

According to Igor Bederov, head of the information and analytical research department at T.Hunter, AI is based on one of the most common text neural networks that runs on the company's servers. To use it, a Telegram bot has been written that simplifies interaction with software, he said.

Another function of the neural network is to check legal entities for TIN. In particular, it provides general information about the company: life, number of employees, authorized capital, registration address, etc. The development company plans to teach AI to explore other objects, including social media accounts, mobile numbers, email addresses and cryptocurrency wallets.

The full launch of the neural network should take place in 2024-2025. The program will be aimed at public or private organizations that investigate cybercrimes related to anonymous Telegram communities.

According to the founder of the PR Perfect communication agency, Kristina Petrova, the neural network will help people who want to expose the owners of such communities. However, in the near future, the neural network is unlikely to cope with the task on its own, she told the publication in December 2023.[1]
