ConsID Platform (before Open HandHeld Engine, OHE) is a core of a line of all solutions proposed by ConsID company.
2017: Change of the name
In October, 2017 the ConsID company renamed the product Open HandHeld Engine (OHE) into ConsID Platform.
2013: Version of OHE v4.0
Implementation of the platform provides the high performance and reliability of the executed transactions at the expense of the used technologies and deep study of internal architecture.
The open Platform (OHE) is a basis for development of industrial business applications for automation of a warehouse, the container terminal by means of designers of Architecture of solutions. There are several ready-made industry solutions on Open HandHeld Engine: solutions for management of warehouse complexes (OHE.WMS); controls of container terminals (OHE.CMS) and others.
The solutions created on the Open HandHeld Engine platform distinguish:
- high performance
- scalability
- high degree of adaptability
- independence of TSD equipment supplier (mobile terminal of data collection)
- short terms of development of final applications due to use of visual means
The platform of business applications includes:
- The Web server - is used as the thin client for administrators and managers of management systems
- The Telnet-server (Web the Client) - is used as the thin client for users of a data collection terminal. Starting with the 3rd version of OHE supports the client's web on data collection terminals.
Web server
The Web server ensures functioning of thin clients on desktop computers. The Web server is based on ASP.NET technology, but uses the controlling units providing big performance due to minimization of time on accounting of statuses of objects and uses of the optimized logic of work.
The open platform of the Web server allows to write client applications for access and data manipulation, stored in a DB.
The user does not have need to have knowledge in the development area of web applications and programming languages. The open platform undertakes all internal processing due to use of a configuration.
The configuration represents the XML files set which are compiled in the application at start of a system.
For development of a configuration of the application on the basis of the open platform the system administrator should have only skills of development of requests to databases (SQL) and stored procedures and complete a training course of technology of development of Web applications by means of the designer of OHE.WEB.
Existence of a configuration of the server and use of the designer of web applications provides the following advantages:
- accelerates development of business applications many times
- minimizes a set of specific knowledge of the developer
- ensures stable functioning of web applications
- reduction of time for setting of technical specifications.
This approach due to standardization of standards of development allows to reduce time for setting of technical specifications as implementation of business logic will be described in this case, and in problem definition of technical implementation there will be no need.
- reduction of time of testing of new functionality.
This approach due to standardization of standards of development allows to reduce time of testing of the developed functionality of the final application as, in this case, only implementation of business logic will be tested, and testing of program implementation is absent because all program logic is in a core of a system and it is already tested.
Telnet Server
The Telnet-server is set of the standard processors providing data exchange with radio terminals.
Telnet-cerver of the Open HandHeld Engine platform ensures functioning on the telnet protocol using any clients supporting this protocol.
The logic of operation of the server is taken out in a configuration file of the XML format. It provides ample opportunities of adaptation of operation of the Telnet-server without labor-consuming development.
For development of terminal applications for the Telnet-server the visual configurator of OHE.Mobile is used.
Use of a configurator accelerates development process of applications and does not require specific skills of personnel. It reduces the cost of additional completions which can be required in the future. This approach also allows to reduce time for testing of the terminal application.
High performance of the Telnet-server of the OHE platform is provided with existence of the isolated flows for each thin client that excludes a possibility of "hangup" of the server at accomplishment of resource-intensive transactions by users.
In version 3.0 the special thin client for data collection terminals working under the Http protocol was developed. Thus the open platform supports work with use of two thin clients: under the telnet and http protocol. Use of the http protocol allows to make the interface of work with the application more ergonomic and reduces the number of transactions of input by the shipping documentation.
Versions of the platform:
- Latest version of OHE v4.0
- OHE v3.8
- Version of OHE v3.7
