3D flash LIDAR - ambient sensor.
On March 31, 2017, Continental introduced the technological development of 3D flash LIDAR, a component of modeling a 3D all-round view representation environment for vehicles.
3D flash LIDAR consists of two components: a laser, as a transmission source, acting as a camera flash that illuminates the space around the car for a distance of more than 200 m, and an integrated receptor chip.
A complete 3D model of the car's environment is built in 1.32 microseconds, 30 times per second.
3D flash LIDAR expands its portfolio of environmental sensors. The start of mass production is scheduled for 2020.
