Implementation of AI Assistant

Custis (Castis) has expanded the capabilities of the key2SCM platform by automatically creating and selecting pairs of analogous materials using the "template" methodology and using an AI assistant. The company announced this on March 20, 2025.

This made it possible to significantly improve the process of selecting analogues of material and technical resources (M&E) from the reserves of industrial enterprises and reduce the time of technical specialists to search for them by up to 50%. At the same time, the number of item items for which the system automatically detects pairs of substitute materials increased by 40%.  According to the results of pilot projects, the expanded functionality of the key2SCM platform made it possible to involve four times more materials and equipment in production processes in natural indicators. This was made possible by saving time for operations and standardizing them.

The use of the platform solves a number of key problems that are often faced by specialists in the logistics of production assets. These are high labor costs for the search for M&E substituents in manual mode and long-term coordination of the possibility of their use with technical experts. This is also the need to involve additional specialists of higher qualifications in the approval process due to the lack of sufficient information on materials and equipment in the directories and process charts.

The application of the template methodology allows platform users to automatically form pairs of substitute materials that have minor differences in characteristics, but can be safely used when performing work instead of the main material without violating the norms and rules. 

The key2SCM platform offers tools for creating material templates and forming pairs of M&E analogues manually or using an AI assistant. Users can specify values as exact values or through rules, as well as use filtering, template editing, and replacement management. 

Using the AI assistant significantly optimizes the execution of operations, allowing procurement specialists to reduce the time spent working with the same type of tasks, creating and changing templates, as well as creating complex property structures and property sets for templates.

Data security is ensured through the use of open source LLM, deployed within an enterprise loop or connected to an enterprise LLM. 

The project to expand the functionality of key2SCM has become a successful example of how digital technologies and AI assistants can not only solve existing problems in the field of supply, but also create opportunities to improve business efficiency.
