DCOS Community Edition for AWS

DCOS Community Edition for AWS (Datacenter Operating System) - the free version for management of scalable cloud resources and DPCs within AWSOC service ^[1].

On June 18, 2015 the Mesosphere company announced release of free^[2].

The product can be loaded on the website Mesosphere for deployment on Amazon of AWS (maintenance overheads of DCOS Community Edition are not considered by infrastructure of AWS). Development of Mesosphere will help developers and operators to reduce the copies operating in Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) in a uniform pool of resources.

Use of Community Edition will simplify creation and deployment of high-scalable applications for DPCs or services of HDFS Big Data Kafka, Spark and Hadoop in a uniform cluster.

According to representatives of developer company, DCOS Community Edition there is the simplest solution for acquaintance with DCOS (major version of Datacenter Operating System (DCOS) for management of scalable cloud resources and DPCs) which does not have restrictions and a binding to a certain vendor, and the organizations can standardize this solution, scaling the clusters to thousands or tens of thousands of copies.

Mesosphere released two editorial offices OS for data centers: the free Community Edition deprived of any restrictions for scaling and commercial - Enterprise Edition. The last extends according to the license, has expanded options for identification of users and protection, is provided with the round-the-clock technical support of the company and also in addition has an opportunity for start of DCOS in local, cloud or hybrid environment of the enterprise.

HPE will build in Mesosphere DC/OS hybrid cloud solutions

At the beginning of 2017 Hewlett Packard Enterprise reported that it will become reseller DC/OS — Open Source-платформы of Mesosphere company for application development, managements of containers and scalings of the hybrid HPE cloud^[3].

In 2016 Mesosphere received 73.5 mln. dollars in a financing C-round. The division of venture investments of HPE was one of her investors.

Under the terms of the transaction HPE will be reseller Mesosphere with which it also has an OEM agreement. In it the provision Mesosphere DC/OS is registered in a hybrid corporate stack.

HPE is going to integrate the solution Mesosphere with the servers, storage systems and services. In the beginning it will earn from the HPE Proliant servers with Linux (DC/OS can be used in any Linux Wednesday).

In the field of data storage of HPE is going to integrate DC/OS into 3PAR StoreServ constructed entirely on a flash memory, and the program configured StoreVirtual Storage applications. Also the divisions of HPE which are engaged in service of containers and to consultations on their use will be engaged in integration of software of Mesosphere.

In the corporate blog HPE notes that the agreement with Mesosphere will help customers to unroll modern applications, including for Big Data, to manage resources and to scale the solutions.
