2019: Announcement
In June, 2019 the DJI company leading in the world market of unmanned aerial vehicles provided the first land robot. In assortment of the producer the Robomaster S1 model appeared. It is intended for the educational purposes.
Robomaster S1 is supplied with four wheels of Mecanum with 12 rollers for the omnidirectional movement. The robot is capable to go by speed up to 13 km/h. The managed tank tower which shoots gel balls is above located. There is also infrared gun for the fights which are not providing physical firing.
In the robot there are six AI modules which use computer vision and object recognition that the nobility where to turn, move or distinguish gestures. Onboard there are 31 sensors, six of which are intended for detection of hits during game fight.
The device can be operated manually with the help of the application for the smartphone or the selected controller. The robot is capable to distinguish 44 different types of visual markers, to monitor the person in the field of his sight, to distinguish and react to cottons and gestures of hands and to execute unique movements when it faces other S1 robot.
The gadget is powered from the rechargeable battery with a capacity of 2400 mAh. It, according to developers, will last for 35 minutes drive of a miniature robotic tank.
Robomaster S1 is delivered in unassembled form therefore over assembly it is necessary to try, studying video lessons of programming for children in the Python or Scratch 3.0 language. The Shuo Young project manager hopes that robotics will become this sport flush with soccer or basketball.
