2022: Announcement of the development matrix of customer information systems functionality
The Department of Corporate Information Systems ALP Group (ALP-IS LLC - DKIS) on March 2, 2022 announced the creation of a specialized technology for managing the release of new versions of the customer's IP - even in the conditions of an expanded flow of incoming requests to increase functionality.
This DKIS ALP (Release Matrix) development and testing element is tightly integrated with the Change Management System (DMS) and extends the capabilities of traditional GitFlow. The need for its creation is associated with the peculiarities of the implementation of large corporate IT projects characteristic of most domestic enterprises. Russian business is faced with the need to quickly and qualitatively solve the problems arising from the large-scale digitalization of the Russian economy; I have to decide how to provide IT support for business expansion, first of all, in systemically important industries; must adapt to changing realities. Many Russian customers have a serious shortage of highly qualified specialists who are able to competently set the task, conduct testing and implementation - with the complicated requirements for the functionality of such systems.
These factors can constrain the potential of new developments, which leads to an increase in the duration of the project as a whole, slows down the work of the technical support services of the integrator and touches on aspects related to cybersecurity issues .
This state of affairs does not suit either the customer or the project executor. It is important that the customer has an up-to-date picture of the compatibility of various versions of products and their extensions: the activities of domestic enterprises are developing so dynamically that it is necessary to create and maintain various assemblies of the final and related software.
The Release Matrix module is successfully used in large DKIS projects, and this year can become an integral part of the company's project management system. Thanks to the technology, along with the traditional ALP documentation for DKIS (TK, test methodology, test protocol and instructions), both the customer and the contractor received a tool that clearly shows and regulates the sequence of release of new versions that allow them to decompose correctly. This makes it possible to avoid "peak" periods, overloaded versions, as well as track the correct order of implementation of new functionality in the customer's information system and provide a high level of technical support from version to version.
