DPC of T-Systems

The T-Systems company, child division of Deutsche Telekom, announced opening and commissioning of one of the largest in Europe and the biggest data processing center in Germany. The new DPC in Bira contains 30,000 servers, the total production area of the center will be nearly 40,000 sq.m.

All buildings of a complex are equipped with modern security systems, and data are most strictly protected from unauthorized access. Were present at an official opening ceremony: CEO of Deutsche Telekom Tim Hyottges (Tim Hottges), Minister of Economy and Energy of Germany Sigmar Gabriel and prime minister of the State of Saxony-Ankhalt Dr. Reiner Haseloff.

Together with already existing data center in Magdeburg (East Germany) the new building forms the complex capable to provide the highest security level of data and transactions. Each of the twin centers is able to undertake load of another in case of accident that guarantees smooth operation of a complex. Buildings of the centers are equipped with the advanced security systems, all data are under strict control, on a case of power failures powerful emergency generators are provided. Opening of new DPC is a part of the international complex strategy of the company. Now in the order of customers worldwide including in Russia, the innovative developments of T-Systems will appear.

The constructed IT complex differs in the high level of energy efficiency. Only one cooling system reduces energy consumption on a third in comparison with the similar centers. For high energy efficiency of DPC of T-Systems company it was mentioned by the gold certificate of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) which only 10 similar enterprises in the world have.

T-Systems manages 22 data centers specializing in providing cloud services to clients. T-Systems is also ready to offer the Russian clients infrastructure of parent company, and it already more than 90 data centers worldwide.

Alexander Vlasov, the head of department of telecommunications and ICTO T-Systems-CIS, the head of the Moscow office Deutsche Telekom, says: "Cloud services are more available, than many think. Clients can select a set of options of lease of a cloud from Russia, for example, to use the pay-per-use model (including dynamic services for the SAP solutions), having got unlimited access to service, but paying only the actual use. Need to pay by default for the software disappears. And at expansion of the company there is no need in creation of new IT infrastructure, involvement of new IT personnel and retraining of employees or licensing of the new software any more".

According to forecasts IDC (IDC Russia Cloud Services Market 2012–2016 Forecast and 2011 Competitive Analysis), the market of cloud services in Russia grew by 400% in 2011, growth rates till 2016 will be 50% annually. However the question of data protection in "clouds" remains one of the most sensitive issues of cloud computing. The Russian customers on an equal basis with the companies have worldwide an opportunity to receive cloud services of the highest reliability as the T-Systems company books regular internal audits and certifies data centers according to different standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 270001, SAS70, etc.
