2022: Carestream Health has taught X-ray machines to reduce training doses without losing quality
In early February 2022, Carestream Health released Smart Noise Cancellation technology in digital X-ray installations to reduce the dose of radiation. According to the manufacturer, this software function, based on artificial intelligence, allows users to reduce the dose of radiation in digital X-ray studies without reducing image quality. 2019: Digital Tomosynthesis Feature Announcement
At the end of October 2019, Carestream introduced digital tomosynthesis technology, which allows you to create detailed three-dimensional diagnostic images based on a single examination.
The new Carestream digital tomosynthesis technology is an updated option within the DRX-Evolution Plus system. This method simplifies the operator's workflow by separating the patient's examination from three-dimensional imaging. During one data collection cycle, the device receives a plurality of projections and makes a three-dimensional image from them.
The use of digital tomosynthesis significantly reduces the time of examination compared to traditional tomography and allows you to quickly find the anatomical area of interest without resorting to the trial and error method. Post-processing based on computer software allows you to get as many sections as the doctor needs, at different intervals and thicknesses.
In an emergency, the radiologist can quickly perform a scan by providing the treating doctor with the information necessary for further diagnosis, "said Sarah Verna, marketing manager for Carestream X-ray solutions. - Computer tomographs (CT) are constantly loaded in trauma centres. Although digital tomography functionality cannot replace a CT scanner, this method can be effectively used in a conventional X-ray room. |
Digital tomography will be implemented in the company's devices along with Carestream Dual-Energy technology, which allows you to easily switch between two modes of radiography. Such technology allows to obtain image of only soft tissues with removed bone structures and, conversely, corresponding image of only bone tissues. This approach optimizes the examination process and reduces the total radiation dose.[1]
