2021: Announcement of the modular DS-10 traffic light

On January 15, 2021 it became known of emergence in Moscow of modular traffic lights. Unusual construction allows to update and expand functionality of the road equipment quickly.

New traffic lights under name DS-10 are made Ural optical-mechanical by the plant of E.S. Yalamov (UOMZ) entering into Schwabe holding. The appearance and the concept were developed by specialists of Studio of industrial design of UOMZ. Devices are installed on roads to five addresses: the 1st Tverskoy-Yamskoy, Testovsky, Sergey Makeev, Zoya and Alexander Kosmodemyanskikh in Moscow and also on Centralny Avenue in Zelenograd.

In Moscow modular traffic lights appeared

Such traffic light can be equipped with modules with different functions among which ecological sensors, road cameras and different indicators for monitoring of security of the urban environment. RGB panels expand a range of the output information displayed on the traffic light – for example, they allow to broadcast information messages (about weather, etc.). Construction of the traffic light assumes operational replacement of modules without dismantling of a product.

According to the deputy CEO of Schwabe Ivan Ozhgikhin, the modular traffic light has an open architecture, allowing to increase "infinitely" device power.

Implementation of elements happens in use devices that allows to adapt it for geographical, climatic and even esthetic features of this or that area. Sections of the traffic light allow to broadcast the additional visual learner, depending on settings of the customer — he told.

Ozhgikhin considers that DS-10 is capable to increase comfort, convenience and security of the urban environment. New traffic lights organically fit into an esthetic appearance and the concept of modern Moscow, the technical director of Spetsdorproyekt Konstantin Antonovich emphasized.[1]
