DataLine Cloud-V (the former name — AzureLine) represents failsafe cloud infrastructure on the platform of technology of virtualization Microsoft Hyper-V and a management portal of Windows Azure Pack.
The computing cluster is constructed on 4-socket servers Dell with 4 Intel Xeon E5 v2 processors-4640, 40 cores of CPU and 512 GB of RAM. Network interface Mellanox ConnectX cards-3 switches of Pro 40GbE and Mellanox MSX1710 SwitchX-2 based 40GbE provide a high data exchange rate between all solution components.
The uniform data warehouse is organized based on Windows Storage Spaces and includes as fast SSD disks of SAS for automatic placement of hot data, and capacious NL disks of SAS for storage of data bulks.[1]
For communication of the Mellanox switches the modern architecture of Leaf-Spine is used. This topology provides transition from the traditional three-level scheme (access — distribution — a core) to two-level: at the kernel level trunk switches (spine) to which access switches (leaf) are directly connected are installed. The set of active ways for transfer of traffic allows to create such solution, to achieve predictable delays at data transmission between nodes of network and also to flexibly scale network infrastructure.
Mellanox adapters support RDMA technology (Remote Direct Memory Access) allowing to minimize cross-network delays and also NVGRE Offload technology (NVGRE is the protocol of the organization of virtual networks used in the systems of Microsoft) therefore decrease in loading of central processors of servers is reached.
The Cloud-V hardware is placed in a data processing center of DataLine — Nord 4 company which first stage was put into commercial operation in the spring of 2015. An object is certified by the Uptime Institute organization and has the level of reliability Tier III. At the programming layer the fault tolerance and high availability of Cloud-V services are provided with Microsoft Failover Clustering and Microsoft NLB Clustering technologies. As a result customers can receive in the order virtual machines with the preset system and platform software, a management portal of Azure Pack and the guaranteed availability of 99.95%.
2015: Start of service
On June 3, 2015 the DataLine company announced the forthcoming start, within the Microsoft Cloud OS Network Russia program, AzureLine service. Free test drive of service will be available on June 15, 2015.
Within service the virtual machines (VM) of any necessary power (are available to users of AzureLine up to 40 cores of CPU and 256 GB of RAM), machines with the preset system and application software: the AzureLine directory includes more than 30 ready templates of virtual machines. Among other properties of service: a user-friendly interface of management (Windows Azure Pack panel) and the guaranteed availability of 99.95% recorded in SLA (Service Level Agreement).
The AzureLine service is focused on large and medium business, it allows to unroll a broad spectrum of information systems in a cloud:
- application servers and databases,
- test environments and zones of development,
- the high-loaded Internet services,
- IT infrastructure of geographically distributed companies, the organizations (branches, retail networks etc.).
"The new stage in development of the cloud DataLine direction begins with AzureLine, - Yury Samoylov, the CEO of DataLine said. - Now we can offer the customers all range of failsafe and disaster-proof IaaS-solutions based on technologies of the leading world vendors. It is also an opportunity to work with the companies which historically use solutions and Microsoft services: a public cloud of Azure and the solution in-house based on technology of virtualization Hyper-V".
"Dataline – the largest player in the market of commercial DPCs in Russia. According to the research IKS Consulting, in 2014 the company took the leading position on quantity of racks with the general share of 12%, having twice overtaken the next [2], - Oleg Koverznev, the program manager of development of partner cloud solutions, Microsoft in Russia emphasized. – We are sure that our cooperation within an initiative of Microsoft COSN Russia which assumes in particular investments of Microsoft into improvement of partner DPCs and also expert support in development of services, development of competence of domestic specialists will help DataLine to diversify business, having strengthened cloud AzureLine - it is only the first step on this way".
