It is an operational, safe and reliable system which allows the Data Domain platforms to provide scalable and effective data protection with support of a cloud for backup applications, archiving and disaster recovery.

With Data Domain OS of the Data Domain system show the indicators of speed and efficiency, best in the industry, providing capacity up to 68 Tbyte/h. It allows to make more backup copies for smaller time and reduces backup windows. The DD OS uses deduplication of data of variable length that reduces requirements to disk space and guarantees saving to disk already deduplitsirovanny data. It reduces requirements to storage of backup copies and archives on average at 10-30 times that allows to use a disk as an economic alternative to a tape. This indicator becomes even more — by 38 times — when using packets of the Dell EMC Data Protection Suite family for data backup in Data Domain. Data on a disk are available in network and on the main platform during longer retention periods, and speed and reliability of recovery and extraction of data considerably increases. At the expense of this Data Domain can protect up to 50 PBytes of logical capacity in one system. And thanks to support of Data Domain Cloud Tier the Data Domain system can place 100 PBytes of deduplitsirovanny data at the level of a cloud for long storage. That volume of resources which lasted only for couple of days of temporary storage of the transferred data earlier thanks to deduplication provides long months of long storage on disks.
