2020: Seol uses a blockchain to exclude falsification of voices on a referendum
At the end of February, 2020 Seoul updated the platform of interaction with citizens of Democracy Seoul, having added function of a blockchain to prevent falsification of voices on a referendum.
The Democracy Seoul platform was started in 2017 and allows citizens to offer and discuss the different subjects concerning work of the government. This debate usually comes to an end with vote when the mayor or the local government respond to the offer. After reorganization on the platform the threshold of the voices necessary for initiation of public discussions also decreased.

Besides, the administration of the program of defense purchases intends to use a blockchain. The technology will be used for registration of requests for defense contracts, estimates of requests and its results. Other project on which the Korean government works includes tracking of a supply chain of beef in the country. Consumption of meat in the country per capita is more, than in China and Japan, two largest importing countries of beef in the world.[1]
