2023: TV Announcement
In January 2023, Displace introduced a TV that has no ports, no familiar remote control, no socket for connecting a power cable. The manufacturer calls its device the first of its kind.
Displace TV is the world's first all-wireless TV. It receives power from four removable battery packs, which can be charged separately through a special station. It is claimed that the batteries provide up to a month of battery life for the panel, subject to viewing video materials for six hours a day.
The novelty is equipped with a 55-inch OLED display in 4K format (3840 × 2160 pixels). Four such screens can be combined into a single array in the form of a 2 × 2 matrix, which will allow you to get a 110-inch TV 8K (7680 × 4320 pixels). The device is equipped with an unusual vacuum mount, which makes it possible to hang the panel on any smooth surface, for example, a wall or window. Control is carried out using gestures, voice commands or through touch.
The TV uses Wi-Fi 6E wireless communication (2.4, 5 and 6 GHz frequency bands) to exchange data with the base unit responsible for processing data and connecting external equipment, for example, a game console. This module with an electrical connection carries an AMD processor and an Nvidia graphics accelerator on board. One block can be used to transmit a signal to six Displace TV panels. Thus, you can organize broadcasting to displays located in different rooms. The base module itself can be hidden in a hidden place.
Displace intends to release a limited batch of TVs in December 2023: the price will be $3,000. You will have to pay $5,400 for a set of two panels, and an array of four will cost approximately $9,000.[1]
