DotNetNuke Corp., developer company of the platform of content management based on Microsoft .NET, announced in October, 2012 the conclusion of strategic alliance with Microsoft within which open CMS DotNetNuke will be offered via the Windows platform of Azure.
Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft will finance development and marketing of DotNetNuke within the next 4 years. Besides, the corporation will provide to DotNetNuke technology support that through joint efforts to construct a qualitative cloud solution.
"For last year clients from upper segments of the market appealed to us more than once to develop high-steady cloud infrastructure for placement of crucial content which would have extensive functionality in the field of Web, - Navin Nagiah, the CEO of DotNetNuke Corp reported. – Therefore we began to cooperate with Microsoft in the direction of creation of powerful CMS based on Windows Azure. It will be reliable and at the same time easily rebuilt".
The new service Windows Azure will allow developers to use possibilities of DotNetNuke Social CMS without need to set program and the hardware necessary for start of the platform. Begin to work with service it will be possible "in one click": to the client will be to select the plan of service enough, and the corresponding installation of DotNetNuke will be created automatically.
Service will provide complete functionality of DotNetNuke, including management of the websites, integration with social services, a modular security subsystem, broad tool kit for the publication of content, management of documents, caching of web pages and modules, web analytics and mobile content management.
From management tools the platform promises automatic update, import and export of the existing websites on Azure and other hostings, backup and recovery and also a possibility of testing of the websites before start.
The organizations wishing to develop additional functionality for service will be able to get full access to the platform and API DotNetNuke. Some plans of service will provide full access to the file system of service.
Besides, within service app store (App Store) through which developers will be able to purchase various web applications and templates of design for creation of the websites will function.

The version of DotNetNuke Community Edition extends via Microsoft CodePlex, the hosting platform for Open Source-проектов.
