On June 25, 2019, the Era Military Innovative Technopolis introduced an unmanned aerial vehicle, which is made in the form of a polar owl. The presentation of the novelty took place at the Army-2019 forum.

A drone weighing 5  kg can be carried by one person and has reduced visibility, which allows you to fly close to the target and determine its coordinates.

It is intended for high-precision determination of the coordinates of reconnaissance ground objects by the integral rangefinder method using a laser rangefinder-target designator and the Global Navigation Satellite System, GLONASS"" the product presentation says.

In Russia, created a reconnaissance drone in the form of an owl

The device is equipped with a laser for guidance of artillery and aviation. It is noted that it can fly without recharging for up to 40 minutes, covering distances of up to 20 km. The drone is capable of recognizing ground targets up to 10 meters.

Technopolice "Era" also developed a drone in the form of a falcon. Its distinctive feature is that with the help of a speaker it can imitate the sound of a falcon and scare away birds in the areas of airfields, RIA Novosti reports. The cost of the scout birds has not been reported. 

These are not the first drones in the form of birds. The American company Prioria Robotics spoke about the production of UAVs in the form of a hawk back in 2013, and in 2018, the creation of such a model was reported in China. Bionic Bird from the French manufacturer is also sold in stores. She does not engage in surveillance, but rather serves as a toy.^[1]

In addition to the reconnaissance drone and weapons , demonstration performances of aviation aerobatic groups of the Aerospace Forces, special forces of the Baltic Fleet on Lake Komsomolsky are planned at the Army military-technical forum. Several important tasks will be solved within the framework of the scientific and business program.
