2021: Start selling smart sunglasses that are dimmed through the app

At the end of May 2021 startup Ampere , Dusk began selling smart sunglasses, which allow you to change the degree of darkening of glasses on request through the application. The model is also equipped with built-in speakers and a microphone with which you can make calls, call Siri Google Assistant and or listen to music.

Unlike classic photochromic lenses, which automatically change shade in response to brighter light, Dusk glasses use electrochromic lenses that change shade in response to electrical signals. On the underside of one of the arms there is a button with which the user can switch between three preset shades of darkening, and for more accurate adjustment you can use the slider from 0 to 100% in the application. You can save your favorite settings to your profile so you can quickly find them later. Ampere claims that a blackout change occurs in 0.1 seconds.

Ampere states that the device can last 7 days on a single charge when used only as glasses and 4 hours in continuous speaker mode. This speaker can also be useful if the user loses points - at the command of the application, the device will begin to make sounds that will help detect them. Dusk has an IP65 waterproof rating, that is, the device can withstand accidental water ingress, but should not dive with them.

Sunglasses have become an excellent substrate for technological startups, and Dusk is far from the only achievement in this area. Bose added fashion columns and even tried to incorporate augmented reality technology into their sunglasses, while Intel and Oakley decided to add a fitness tracker to their glasses.[1]
