EMC OnDemand

Offers of EMC OnDemand integrate in themselves technologies EMC, VMware and RSA and will be available to deployment both in a private corporate cloud, and in public clouds through service providers. The number of the first products using this technology includes EMC Captiva for corporate input, EMC Document Sciences for intellectual management of communications with clients, CenterStage for management of contents and joint work and basic storage of contents Documentum.

At the heart of EMC OnDemand two components – VCUBE and VCUBE Manager.

VCUBE represents a container for deployment of a cloud, and VCUBE Manager – the environment of centralized operation and administration. VCUBE can encapsulate one or several solutions EMC or partner solutions and to use the technologies of VMware leading in the industry, including virtualization of desktops of VMware View, VMware vCloud Director for creation of a pool of virtual resources of virtual infrastructure (vApps) of VMware vShield ensuring safety of virtual environment, and VMware vSphere as the underlying platform of cloud infrastructure. Thanks to such infrastructures as VCE Vblock Infrastructure Platform, applications it is possible to transfer without changes from platforms of an external hosting to data centers of the customer.

VCUBE Manager provides "single window" for the solution of such administration tasks as a software update, LDAP integration, services of safe integration and media control of the user. This product will include a set of the solutions RSA for control and protection for the purpose of creation of the platform with the high level of security and compliance. Offers of EMC OnDemand are delivered by completely completed operating systems and application servers and prednastroyena the corresponding vApps for testing, development and operation. vApps provide the intellectual and coordinated migration from test in a working environment.

According to the strategy of cloud services of EMC all EMC OnDemand applications will be available as the external services offered through partners of the EMC Service Provider level. Customers will have an opportunity to be connected to the provider who is most suitable in terms of a geographical location for obtaining the guaranteed performance level and quality of service.

On November 7, 2011 within the annual conference for partners and users of products and solutions for management of corporate maintenance of Momentum Europe, EMC announced availability of EMC OnDemand to EMC Captiva, EMC Document Sciences and EMC Documentum. EMC OnDemand helps customers to save time and money, to simplify transactions and to transform the business due to concentration of efforts on increase in its profitability.

OnDemand provides with customers an opportunity, continuing work on the current releases of the software, to simplify management of difficult applications and to reduce costs for IT. since the IT who is required for operation of applications and solutions flew down, is in the data centers which are safely connected to local networks of customers.

Originally the following solutions are a part of OnDemand:

• EMC Captiva: the solution of a corporate class for intellectual data collection which cuts down expenses and will improve processing of large volumes of paper documents using automatic classification, indexing, extraction and routing of business information.
• EMC Document Sciences: the solution for intellectual communications with clients providing generation of the personalized information, production and delivery on different channels including paper documents, e-mail, the SMS and Web channels.
• EMC Documentum: clients of Documentum are the Webtop, CenterStage, Mobile and My Documentum for Desktop applications, along with administrative tools and developments for Documentum and the main services, including Documentum Content Server, Retention Policy Services, xPlore, Content Transformation Services and Content Intelligent Services.

As the base of OnDemand the new model of deployment in a hybrid cloud which helps customers to accelerate the transition to a cloud is used. Developed using different the technologies, best in the class, from VMware, RSA and EMC, infrastructure may contain one or several products EMC and her partners and to be completely transferable of one data center in another. It also allows customers to select resources and to configure a system for fast deployment.
