2017: The VMAX 950F system is released
On May 17, 2017 the Dell EMC company announced release of a system of the VMAX All Flash family - VMAX 950F, technology for data storage of the senior class.
In it performance is increased by 68% and for 30% response time, in comparison with the previous generation is improved. The press service of vendor announced achievement of almost 4-fold gain of speed in the mode of testing of real workloads of VMAX 950F, in comparison with the closest competitors.
In an array of VMAX 950F Intel processors with program expansions are used. It allows to consolidate on one platform smaller by the size for 25%, different solutions, including open systems, mainframes, IBM i, file workloads with a performance corresponding to the previous generation of systems.
The flash array of VMAX 950F offers the services of data transmission implemented in the rest of the VMAX All Flash family, including SRDF (Symmetrix Remote Data Facility), D @ by RE (Data At-Rest Encryption), uninterrupted migration, the built-in data compression and others. VMAX 950F is focused on use in the field of banking services, processing of credit cards, the systems of billing or maintaining medical records.

2016: VMAX All Flash
VMAX All Flash is the SSD array at the physical layer supporting blocks, files, open systems and mainframes with a scaling option to the 4th petabyte.
On February 29, 2016 EMC submitted the flagman[1].
According to the statement of the company, arrays of VMAX All Flash are characterized by high flexibility of the VMAX platform and bigger availability, than traditional disk arrays, the cost of ownership (TCO). In addition to the simplified management, completing of a product includes the equipment and the software.
EMC announced purposeful development of the system of VMAX All Flash for receiving complete return from performance of a solid-state memory and economic advantages of high-capacity SSD, including Write Folding technologies which increase reliability a flash memory, at the same time maintaining peak performance levels.

The multidimensional scalability is reached by means of use of architecture of VBrick as "construction block". Each VBrick contains one engine VMAX and provides 53 TB available capacities which volume can be increased up to 500 TB additions for 13 TB. It is possible to integrate several VBrick for joint work as at most eight VMAX engines operating with 4 petabytes. VMAX All Flash 450 can work with VBrick in number from 1 to 4, and VMAX All Flash 850 can support up to 8 VBrick, allowing customers it is easy to scale a system and to move data.
According to developers, VMAX All Flash provides millions of IOPS and supports delays at the level up to 500 microseconds for reading/record, providing capacity to 150 GB / page. Having a built-in set of services for work with data, VMAX All Flash can work with the crucial systems and applications, providing the continuity of work of business and a possibility of disaster recovery that helps to reach availability in "six nine" (99.9999) when using technology of remote replication of EMC SRDF.
VMAX All Flash supports applications and the systems from VMware, Oracle, Microsoft and OpenStack, mainframes of IBM and iSeries, Restful-API library.
Products of division of the convergent EMC (VCE) systems will also support the VMAX All-Flash platform for work with the VCE Vblock 740 systems, providing to customers fast transition to modern architecture of DPC.
2016 will be year of All-Flash for main systems of storage, and EMC makes breakthrough in this direction with the VMAX All Flash system — completely processed platform which uses the most dense placement a flash disks, together with the power and ease of use of the platform of work with services of data of VMAX. VMAX All Flash was developed for modern DPCs, it provides the brutal number of IOPS and also permanent level of delays at the level of less than a millisecond at "six nine" of availability.
