In the middle of October, 2019 Vatican provided smart beads of eRosary with function of the fitness tracker. The device was developed by Acer company which already sold earlier the "smart" Buddhist beads intended for calculation of quantity of mantras during a prayer.
Christian electronic beads consist of ten black agate and hematite beads and also a "smart" cross in which data are stored. Beads of eRosary are controlled the Click to Pray application which can be activated, having carried out by a cross near the smartphone screen.
The appendix is contained by the personalized religious content, texts and audio recordings of prayers for training and also allows the owner to keep track of the religious activity. Rosary or Rosary call traditional Catholic beads and the prayer of the same name which is said with these beads. The Rosary prayer said on beads represents alternation of prayers of Pater Noster, "Rejoice, Maria" and Glory to which reflections about the secrets corresponding to certain evangelical events should accompany. Respectively, after activation of the application the user can select prayers which he wishes to say at present. Besides, beads are supplied with functions of a fitness bracelet therefore in the application it is possible to keep track of the number of the burned calories, the passable steps and kilometers and other parameters.
Vatican stated that this project integrates in itself the best spiritual traditions of Church and the last achievements of the technology world and is intended to attract young people in a Christianity bosom. However, if desired they can be used as a normal fitness bracelet, it is told in the presentation on the website of Vatican. The Click to Pray application is already available on iOS and Android, and "smart" beads can be purchased for $110.[1]
