2019: Announcement of a system
At the beginning of September, 2019 Bosch provided an electric actuator for baby carriages. The solution of the German producer was received by the name eStroller System.
It includes two electric motors which fasten to back wheels, and the system of automatic braking which stops a carriage if to release hands from it. The released equipment significantly facilitates raising of a carriage uphill so parents will need to make less efforts.
Also electronics allows to lower a carriage from a slope, to hold on a side bias and to stabilize a carriage at strong wind.
The sensors analyzing the road along the line of a carriage are provided in eStroller System. A system eats from removable li-ion cells. Bosch declares 14.5 km of driving without recharge at constantly started electric motor. However engines can be switched-off, for example, on a plain surface.
For control of work of eStroller System developers created mobile application which connects a system with the smartphone through Bluetooth. In the program it is possible to control the battery charging level, a course stock in the electric mode and to start motors if necessary.
Besides, the mode of hijack protection is provided in eStroller System: at a stop it is necessary to click a blocking pedal on a carriage, and it is possible to disconnect it only through the application. From security reasons without the application only the system of an automatic brake works.
The technology can function in carriages with one or two blocks (for twins) for accommodation of the child.
Bosch is not going to sell electric baby carriages and intends to cooperate with their producers. The market leader of baby carriages — the Swedish company Emmaljunga became the first partner of the company. It will release the electrified carriages for children in 2020.[1]
