EXFO Universal Virtual Sync is technology for measurement of a one-way network delay in real time.
On October 4, 2017 it became known of release of virtual functionality by EXFO company for the testing of synchronization created for measurement of delays in modern communication networks, including a 5G.
Growth of volumes of traffic, development of technologies of virtualization of network functions and cloud services, Internet of Things, preparation for implementation of a 5G toughened requirements to capacity and link quality. An important component - operational identification and elimination of a delay in network (latency).
Premises to emergence of a delay:
- Configuration of network and remoteness of objects;
- Load of network;
- Changes of routing in network.
The technology of measurement of synchronization of EXFO Universal Virtual Sync allows to take "one-sided" measurements of delays with the minimum error in ± 100 microseconds, without requiring at the same time external additional devices. This development gives to users an opportunity to use the available test equipment without any reconfiguration for obtaining high-precision results.
