2020: The announcement of eXciteOSA - the system of treatment of snore

At the beginning of February, 2021 the Signifier Medical Technologies company released the exercise machine of language which treats snore and halting problems of breath in a dream due to electrostimulation of muscles. The eXciteOSA device which was earlier called SnooZeal is supplied with a mouthpiece with four electrodes. Electrodes provide the electric stimulation of muscles similar to chreskozhny electric stimulation of nerves, but directed to area around language. The strengthened language muscles finally will interfere with closing of airways, allowing air to enter and leave lungs freely.

Treatment is carried out daily on twenty minutes a day within six weeks, and then therapy is replaced with weekly sessions. It is possible to use the device at home or in any other place at the discretion of the user. However similar therapy is contraindicated to patients with pacemakers and tooth implants and also to patients with the index apnoe-gipopnoe 15 or above.

eXciteOSA

Regulatory bodies estimated security and efficiency of the eXciteOSA device at 115 patients with snore, including at 48 patients with snore and a lung apnoe in a dream. All patients used the device within 20 minutes within 6 weeks once a day and were estimated in 2 weeks after the end of therapy. In general the dream duration share with snore at the volume level higher than 40 dB decreased more than by 20% at 87 of 115 patients. In subgroup of 48 patients with snore and a lung apnoe the average index apnoe-gipopnoe decreased by 48% at 41 of 48 patients. Excessive salivation, discomfort in a mouth, pricking in language, sensitivity to seals, metal smack, vomiting and a spasm of a jaw were the most frequent observed ghost effects.[1]
