2021: Bus launch on public roads in Europe

At the end of November 2021, EasyMile launched its EZ10 buses in various parts of the world, and now has added another location, becoming the first transport company to receive permission to operate a driverless drone on public roads in France.

In 2015, EasyMile first introduced its EZ10 bus, tests were already carried out in more than 30 countries around the world, and many of them did not have a person in the cab, the operator was controlled remotely. The company seeks to position its vehicle as an autonomous transport solution for private campuses, factories, airports, etc. The latest version of the autonomous bus is designed for a total capacity of 15 people. EZ10 is equipped with soft seats and seat belts, the company also added an automated ramp and wheelchair attachment points for passengers with disabilities. EasyMile also updated a set of sensors and teamed up with German startup Sono Motors to integrate solar panels and increase the range of the vehicle.

This is an important step towards the real commercialization of autonomous driving, both on large private facilities and on public roads. The application of our technology for the movement of people and goods continues to expand, especially in places such as campuses, business parks, industrial sites. I look forward to the future as more and more people move to intelligent, collaborative transportation, "said EasyMile CEO Benoit Perrin.

EasyMile launched driverless shuttles at the Oncopole medical campus in Toulouse, France. Having proved the safety and reliability of its services, EasyMile was the first in Europe to receive a permit for the autonomy of the fourth level on public roads issued by the French government. This is a high level of automation that allows the vehicle to work without a person on board. EasyMile cleared the way for autonomous vehicles that begin to travel on public roads in France.[1]
