2020: The announcement of needles of EchoGlo for blockade of peripheral nerves
In the middle of December, 2020 the Smiths Medical company released new needles of EchoGlo for blockade of peripheral nerves within the platform of control of pain Portex.
EchoGlo is the specially developed needle which provides a bright ekhogenny signal at ultrasonic inspection, thereby improving visualization and accuracy during medicine introduction. The Eagle EchoGlo allows the doctor surely and to precisely enter local anesthetic for blockade of a peripheral nerve that can reduce postoperative dependence on opioids, the press release says.
Ekhogenny spiral construction represents the construction patented by Smiths Medical with a combination of grooves clockwise and counterclockwise. Grooves are designed so that to reflect acoustic energy back to the sensor, providing ekhogenny visibility. At the same time grooves of a needle of EchoGlo have a smaller step that leads "density of the reflected elements" to increase. It also creates big echogenicity, than at a normal needle therefore EchoGlo is visible on ultrasonography at introduction under different corners and on different depth. The Eagle EchoGlo saves brightness even at introduction at an angle> 45 °, allowing the clinical physician to be guided quickly in features of passing of nerves and vessels of each patient.
Smiths Medical with pride offers EchoGlo needles for blockade of peripheral nerves as a part of our Portex platform, - the senior director of Smiths Medical on global product management Jaimie Mattson told in the press release. - EchoGlo combination to our portfolio for control of a pain syndrome will become the full solution for doctors and patients. |
The Eagles EchoGlo are issued in the range from 20 to 22G, from 35 to 150 mm long.[1]
