EcoNAT

EcoNAT - the product focused on operators capable to resolve an issue of shortage of addresses IPv4 when preserving of the existing IPv4 of infrastructure and in the long term smooth migration on IPv6.

A series of devices of an operator class supports functions necessary for provider for the Large-Scale NAT organization: restriction of number of broadcastings for the subscriber, recording of subscriber connections, hot reconfiguring, several modes of broadcasting working in parallel.

Devices are Bridge L2 transparent for all types of traffic, except for traffic of IPv4 needing broadcast of the IP addresses.

The solution EcoNAT allows to optimize an address space of IPv4 c use of CG-NAT technology

The standard location of this solution in network of the telecom operator — between the boundary router Edge Router and routers of a core of network — BGN/BRAS. The connections passing through EcoNAT can be aggregated, i.e. consisting of several physical joints 10G integrated in one or several logical links.

Osnovny operation mode of EcoNAT - CG-NAT (Carrier Grade Network Address Translation) or PAT (Port Address Translation). This mode allows to separate use of public IPv4 of the address between several subscribers. In this mode it is broadcast not only the addresses, but also ports. The number of the TCP and UDP ports which are at the same time used by the subscriber can be limited.
