2024: Product Announcement

Engineers of the National Research Technological University "MISIS" in partnership with the design bureau Karfidov Lab have developed the first completely domestic thermal transfer printer for marking cables, wires and electrical components. This became known in early December 2024.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, the new device is intended for marking electrical equipment in residential buildings and at industrial facilities. The cost of a Russian product in serial production is planned to be 30% lower than foreign counterparts.

The first Russian printer for marking electrical equipment was presented

Alexey Karfidov, head of the engineering department of technological equipment at NUST MISIS, co-founder and general engineer of the Karfidov Lab design bureau, noted that the developed printer is a full-fledged microcomputer with a screen, keyboard, printing and tape broaching unit that will meet the needs of the Russian market in electrical equipment.

The device is equipped with a built-in keyboard for entering marker text, it is also possible to transfer data from a computer via a USB cable. The printer menu allows you to load marker indexes to simplify material selection and size. The system automatically positions the text on the marker and cuts the profiles using a reinforced cutting mechanism.

To launch serial production of such high-tech products in Russia, the training of qualified specialists is required. As part of this task, the master's program "Technological Support of Innovation" was opened at NUST "MISIS" as part of the advanced engineering school of MAST under the supervision of Karfidov Lab.

The program is aimed at training specialists to create innovative technical products and organize production processes based on real projects carried out by order of the business. Wire labeling with specialized printers replaces the manual method and allows you to create clear labels with company labels, symbols and logos.[1]
