Integration of radiation control in the course of treatment provides continuous quality control throughout all session of radiation and allows to make clinical decisions in real time.

In the Icon Gamma Knife system the identical level of accuracy of leading of a dose is reached at any method of fixing - both when using a frame, and at frameless fixing, with an accuracy of 0.15 mm. If provision of the patient exceeds the limit of available accuracy, a system is blocked, instantly stopping a dose holiday.

Online control of delivery of a dose

The integrated system of stereotaksicheskiya of visualization Cone Beam CT is addition to the radio surgical Icon system. CBCT integrated with the system of positioning of the patient determines stereotaksichesky coordinates in the 3D system, taking into account anatomy of the patient. After comparison of the image Cone Beam CT to earlier received MRT-image, the plan of treatment automatically adapts. Thanks to characteristics of delivery of a dose a system automatically adapts to change of provision of the patient. Dose assessment in the online mode allows to compare distribution of a dose which should be are delivered, in comparison with a dose which was going to be delivered in the course of the treatment session that is carried out directly on the console, and in case of need, the plan can be quickly adapted in the online mode.

High accuracy

All components of the Gamma knife system are integrated into the single system providing the high accuracy of a radio surgical system and extent of preserving of healthy fabrics from influence of radiation. The design with isocentric planning and treatment allows to be convinced that the dose is where it is necessary, and has no impact on other sections of a brain.^[1]
