In October 2021, the Russian company Eliq introduced, as it claims, the world's first serial electric snowboard. Its cost in retail will be 390 thousand rubles. The wholesale price is 340 thousand rubles. An additional battery will cost customers 140 thousand rubles.

The novelty is a board with a caterpillar, powered by a powerful electric motor, which, together with the inverter, is taken from the DWX250 electric motorcycle. The device responds to all movements of the driver, has a direct stroke, and turns can be carried out by tilting the body.

As reported in the description of the product on the Eliq website, an electric deck weighing 70 kg is able to reach speeds of up to 65 km/h. The vehicle range is from 20 to 30 km, and the charging time of the lithium battery from 0% to 100% - 2 hour. The peak power of the unit is declared at the level of 25 kW. It is claimed that acceleration to the maximum speed and in hard snow is possible in 6 seconds.

The electrical installation was created by Laboratory E-MAX, and the frame was manufactured by the Sibmaster plant.

The electric deck is quite compact, it is able to fit in the trunk of any car. Dimensions in folded state - 138x45x45 cm, in folded - 138x45x120 cm. Total weight - 70 kg.

A removable battery weighing about 23 kg can be charged at home. According to the developers, they used a high-quality battery, as in electric vehicles, which should last about 5-7 years.

According to the founder and chief investor of the Eliq project, Alexei Korshunov, at the first stage several hundred copies of electric snowboards will be released, and from 2022 about 1-2 thousand models will be released.

Korshunov said that 30 million rubles were invested in the mass production of electric snowboards. Transport is subject to an annual guarantee.[1]
