2020: Start of an online course
On March 6, 2020 it became known of start of a free online course by Epam company on DevOps. The training is expected beginners in the field of IT and people with the minimum experience. The rate includes two parts:
- Online training
- DevOps Lab
Online part is broken into 6 modules and constructed generally on videos (duration no more than 20 minutes everyone) and demonstration materials in which different situations are in detail sorted and commands for set are painted.
Trainees can ask questions to mentors or colleagues at the rate of in a special chat in Gitter and to note the progress on the Grow portal. After successful passing of the first step of training it is possible to pass an interview and to receive job offer in Epam or to get to laboratory.
Training in DevOps Lab gives broader spectrum of knowledge that such DevOps and Software Development LiveCycle and about tula which these practicians implement. Here study CI/CD, Cloud and configuration-management, containers, monitoring more deeply and also interact with mentors more densely.
After training in laboratory students can receive the offer on Epam work. The company notes that there were cases when even the specialists who passed the starting module got a job in Epam at once, "but it is rather an exception to the rules".
Training at DevOps rates requires the notebook with Internet connection and the level of English A2 (Pre-Intermediate) above. Level of language can be theoretically lower, "but in that case in parallel with technical knowledge it is necessary to tighten and it, differently it is difficult to understand materials", specified in Epam.
As of March 6, 2020 for passing of a free online course on DevOps more than 240 people were registered. The number of participants of the educational project is unlimited.[1]
