2022: Start of sales of rollers with electric motors Escend Blades
At the end of August 2022, the British company Escend introduced Blades two-wheeled roller skates equipped with electric motors and a control panel. The model, called Escend Blades, is a motorized wheeled platform on which third-party riding boots can be mounted. Optional adapters allow boots with UFS or Trinity mount systems.
Each of the 3.75 kg aerospace aluminum body platforms is equipped with two 105 mm wheels with an aluminum rim and silicone tires, a quick-change lithium battery and a 400 W rear hub engine.
Both platforms are simultaneously controlled by one manual wireless remote, which is used to speed up, stop and select Eco, Commute and Turbo ride modes - there is also reverse transmission. The backlit remote display displays information such as distance traveled and battery level.
One four-hour charge should last about 15km. This is facilitated by the regenerative braking system. The Blades have a top speed of 25 km/h and are capable of climbing climbs up to 20 °.
Users can purchase their own boots, they can also choose a package that includes Powerslide Doop Boots stepped boots that fit snugly with the user's existing daily shoes. Another set includes a pair of hard Powerslide Metro Boots.
The device is in the fundraising phase on Kickstarter. At the same time, the developers have already shown how it looks, as well as examples of its use.
The contribution amount for August 2022 starts at $756, which is 25% of the planned retail price. If everything goes according to the developers' plan, then videos with electric motors should be sent to the first buyers in October 2022.[1]
