2022: 3D Printer Announcement

In mid-November 2022, the Russian company F2 Innovations introduced a 3D pellet printer with the largest printing area. The product was named F2 Gigantry.

The device is an open portal with an extruder (part of a 3D printer that melts the polymer and, moving along a certain trajectory, grows the model layer by layer), capable of creating parts up to 4 meters in length, 2 meters in width and 1 meter in height. The technology allows printing with polymer pellets with a capacity of up to 10 kg/h, including recycling (recycled granulate), the company said.

According to the developers, the device will allow enterprises to create large parts quickly and cheaply - while reducing costs by up to 40 times. F2 Gigantry was originally created as a personal order for the aircraft industry, but can be used in any field of production, including the defense industry. It is noted that F2 Gigantry consists of 90% Russian components and is at the certification stage.

The first printer was designed for personal order in order to print equipment for calculating composite wings of aircraft. Such foreign solutions on average cost more than 1 million euros. The company managed to reduce the cost of equipment through technological know-how and the use of Russian components, F2 Innovations said.

It is clarified that such large-sized solutions were not previously presented on the Russian market. The new industrial printer is at the certification stage by mid-November 2022. In the spring of 2022, F2 Innovations opened a new production site on the territory of the PNIPU Sosnovy Bor technopark^[1]
