2022: System Announcement
On July 7, 2022, Fujifilm Healthcare announced the launch of the FDR Cross hybrid X-ray system. It is intended for hospitals and outpatient surgery centers (ASCs).
The company said in a press release that the dual-function manipulator is the first of its kind to offer portable fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging within a single platform, eliminating the need to involve additional imaging equipment when performing the necessary image-pointing procedures.
The platform is equipped with an innovative rotary tube head and a removable detector, which provides greater imaging freedom and efficiency compared to traditional configurations including a separate X-ray manipulator and a mobile X-ray machine.
In addition, the platform is compatible with Fujifilm's latest ultra-light glass-free FDR D-EVO III detectors, allowing configurations of 10×12, 14×17 and 17×17 inches (25×30, 36×43 and 43×43 centimeters). With a 17×17-inch detector, the visualization area is doubled compared to standard c-arm solutions.
Fujifilm's FDR Cross has a replaceable detector holder, allowing doctors to switch between three different detector sizes for a variety of surgical studies, procedures and budgets, as well as a maneuverable and ergonomic design that has its own battery for up to eight hours of battery life, and is more than 70 kg lighter than conventional compact c-arm manipulators.
The platform also has the ability to displace the X-ray tube relative to the built-in detector, allowing wireless X-ray imaging similar to standard portable X-rays, including chest examinations on the table, across the table, and in a gurney chair and standing.
| Among our many "first" developments in diagnostic imaging, FDR Cross is our latest innovation in advanced portable imaging, designed to accelerate clinicians' workflow and improve patient care, Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Medical Imaging Systems Strategic Marketing Director Rob Fabrizio said in a news release. FDR Cross allows healthcare organizations to make the most of the equipment by performing fluoroscopic, verification and portable imaging with a single imaging system.[1] |
