FORAN

Product
Developers: Sener
Technology: CAD

FORAN is the specialized ship-building system of design.

FORAN is the main tool for shipbuilders allowing to make all design stages from the outline sketch before design engineering.

A system is applicable for all types of vessel, irrespective of their sizes and a form, and can consider special requirements of the customer completely.

FORAN has the leading advantage among CAD/CAM/CAE of technologies in shipbuilding, providing integration of solutions for complete design of the vessel, including determination of a form, calculations of sea constructions, determination of structure of the body, saturation, electricians and residential space that allows to have competitive development process and design.

The FORAN system is developed by the Sener Ingenieria y Sistemas SA company which is the largest and independent engineering company in Spain and the having 45 years' experience in sea design that provides completeness, the accuracy and efficiency of instruments of design.

The uniform 3D model of the project includes not only information on vessel components, but also is associative and parametrically connects them among themselves, components have different attributes, the description of materials and production data. The model is created and increased in faithful and complete idea of the project from separate parts.

Libraries of standards, specifications and regulations for creation of a 3D model are defined according to requirements of shipyard. These libraries are available to the subsequent projects.

FORAN includes a set of the functions facilitating project development at an early stage. Special tools are also available to accomplishment of initial design.

Parts of case constructions and saturation can be integrated in assembly units that will allow to obtain production information according to the technology accepted on shipyard.

For all components created in a 3D model data for their production in the form of drawings, schemes and tables can be obtained with high quality.

FORAN can openly interact with different PDM and ERP systems (for example, OneSpace), to transfer data to other applied packets and vice versa.

FORAN has great opportunities for determination of any forms of a hull, including asymmetric and multicase vessels. There are many additional methods applicable for creation of a form of the body, proceeding from draft or preliminary determination.

A system can make different calculations of hydrostatic curves, curve Bonzhana, scales a deposit, curves of stability and vessels, many other for the most complete assessment of characteristics. FORAN will make calculations for the choice of power of the power unit and the propulsion unit.

FORAN allows to define quickly structure of the body, including a covering and sheets of decks, a profile and internal parts. The cornerstone topology allows to obtain easily and quickly information on components. On the created data a system will allow to obtain detailed information on production of parts, materials, to calculate weight and the center of gravity of constructions and many other things. FORAN allows to make automatic and semi-automatic cutting of sheet and profile rolling.

Specialized modules on specializations the equipment and pipelines with saturation, the electrician, equipment of premises allow to create the approved model of the vessel and to obtain necessary information for production and assembly. The user has an opportunity to completely control communications between the created and located components that provides big accuracy during creation of model and further production and assembly on production.

FORAN uses the single database that allows to have a complete idea on the project, the latest changes are always available to the user to work.

A system uses progressive technologies for work with the database and graphical representation of the project.

FORAN can work in operating systems Windows and Linux, installed on the standard PC computers.
