2020: Reduction in Federal Space Programme costs
At the end of August 2020, it became known about the reduction in costs for the Federal Space Program (FKP). According to the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin, a further decrease in funding for the space industry in Russia threatens to degrade it.
According to the passport, the FKP until 2025 should amount to 1 trillion 406 billion rubles, and in reality it has already been cut by 150 billion rubles. And this is not counting the alleged sequester of space programs, which is associated with a drop in federal budget income, "Rogozin said in an interview with TASS at the Army 2020 forum. |
According to him, negotiations with the Ministry of Finance should be completed in the fall of 2020. The general director of Roscosmos called for the return of the space industry "what was promised."
He added that he would defend the main positions of the FKP and, in particular, the transition of the Angara, which should start from Vostochny, to the third hydrogen stage, which will sharply increase the power of this rocket.
At the end of July 2020, it became known that the costs of implementing space programs could be reduced by 60 billion rubles in 2021-2023. This figure is contained in the document developed by the Ministry of Finance "Methodology for calculating the maximum basic budget allocations of the federal budget" for state programs for these years. Of these, the largest reduction - 20 billion rubles - is possible in the costs of space programs. The agency can also reduce funding for missile development by 2.96 billion rubles. The only item of expenditure that the Ministry of Finance allows to increase is the development of spaceports.
According to Dmitry Rogozin, the reduction in spending will affect a number of space programs, which is also associated with a drop in federal budget revenues.
By the end of 2020, a single state program for space activities Russia for the period 2021-2030 will be submitted for government approval, the head of Roscosmos said[1]
