2025: Beginning of Use

At the end of May 2025, it became known that advertising began to be shown in China on huge flexible displays suspended from unmanned aerial vehicles. Such panels can also be used to display various content during all kinds of mass events, such as concerts and sports.

According to China Daily, the displays were developed by Shenzhen-based technology company Filmbase. Called Filmbase Flying Display, you can display static and dynamic high-definition materials. At the same time, the panel itself, being suspended from the drone, hovers in the air, which creates visual effects of a qualitatively new level.

ads began to be placed on flexible displays that are suspended from drones

A feature of Filmbase Flying Display is transparency, which, according to the developer, reaches 95%. Thanks to this, the panel can "merge" with the environment: through it objects in the background - natural landscape or any structures are perfectly visible.

Filmbase Flying Display is 2 mm thick and weighs approximately 250 grams per square meter. The standard size is 5 × 15 meters, which gives an area of 75 square meters. Such a panel weighs less than 20 kg. Several displays suspended from drones can be lined up to form a giant floating video wall. According to Filmbase, displays are capable of demonstrating high-resolution 3D effects. The installation can stay airborne in light winds for 20-30 minutes - depending on the type of drone used.
