Safe printing and routing of tasks

FollowMe stores tasks on the Q-Server FollowMe print server and sends them to the corresponding printer only, after authorization of the user. FollowMe provides the flexible system of printing, the user can receive the of printouts on any printer connected to a system, at the same time he can be sure that tasks will not be duplicated. If the printer is disabled for any reason, the user can receive the task on any other. At the same time there is no need to wait for maintenance of the printer or to again send tasks for another. The solution allows to save time and money in any environment where time - money. Easy integration of FollowMe works in Windows - LINUX - with Unix - Apple - and AS400 Wednesday without additional software, allowing to use the existing system of the identity certificate (proximity, magnetic, smart of the card or biometric identification, on a fingerprint). Supporting protocols of printing Line Printer Remote (LPR) and Windows Shared Printers FollowMe allows to perform integration of a system of safe printing with the existing infrastructure of network.

Interactive printing (FollowMe Printing)

Interactive printing of FollowMe is intended for security of use of the copier/printer or the MFP. When using this mode preliminary authorization of the user on the device for receiving the tasks sent to a print queue or unblockings of functions of copying is required. Interactive printing ensures safety and accounting for all tasks of printing and copying in a system. At the same time interactive printing can be uses with not interactive (normal) printing for creation of more flexible solutions.

Not interactive printing (Accounting of printing)

Not the interactive method of printing within the FollowMe system provides accounting of use of the printers, on the basis of data passing through the FollowMe print server. Not the interactive method can be appointed for certain printers of a system.

2016: FollowMe v6.2

In FollowMe of version 6.2 technologies of privileged information loss prevention are applied (Data Leak Prevention, DLP) and also support of the organizations with an extensive network of branches is strengthened.

The solution for safe and economic printing of FollowMe is intended for:

To help the organizations to minimize waste of printing and to reduce the unnecessary expenditure of paper, printers managed by FollowMe do not begin to print until the user approached the printing device.

Administrators can create in scales of the organization of policy of printing, the rule and a quota for employees and their groups, printers and document types:

• limit use of color by automatic printing of e-mail in the monochrome mode;
• set printing quotas for certain divisions or individual employees;
• to automatically redirect big tasks for productive printers.

Support of all MFP brands and printers

It is not necessary to buy new printers – FollowMe works with printing devices of any producers, provides convenience of control of printers and adaptability in different environments of printing. FollowMe finds the application in the companies of the different size and activity.

In network the server software, and on hard drives MFPs – the clients who are built in (embedded) is established (if installation of the software client is impossible, the hardware controller is used). The card reader or other device for user authentication is connected to USB port of the printing device (or to the controller). The same ACS cards, as for access to office are used.

Mobile printing

FollowMe gives the chance to print from mobile devices in the safe mode without the need for an input in corporate network. Tasks can be transferred to the printer using e-mail, the web client and from any mobile phone or the tablet device. Integration into AirPrint Apple and Google Cloud Print is provided.

FollowMe v6.1

• Google Cloud Print is support of service of printing at the level of corporation, without the need for installation of add-on software modules, security of printing of FollowMe Printing with the integrated accounting and monitoring of actions of each user when using the devices supporting Google Cloud Print such as smartphones, tablets.
• The universal program core of printing (Universal Document Printing Engine, UDPE) is a part of the Platform of the printing of the next generation (Next Generation Printing Platform, NGPP) using the XPS format and providing the uniform universal driver that eliminates need of use of own drivers of printers and provides transmission accuracy on paper of all nuances of formatting, the speed of its printing, including the amount of transmitted data of the document and managing commands, reduces load of a local network. For devices without support of XPS rendering in a necessary format without user intervention is provided.
• Built-in support of printing of PDF, URF and XPS. Direct printing accelerates processing of tasks for printing, improves the accuracy of display of documents, reduces requirements to network transmission capacity at the expense of the smaller size of documents and significantly expands a set of options for printing.
• Registration of tasks – the integrated function which fixes all actions of users, from the moment of sending for printing to a release of the document from the printer, including transactions on a control panel of the printing device.
• Multilevel authentication ensures additional safety due to simultaneous use of cards and PIN codes on devices with built-in (embedded) the client that was possible earlier only with the external FollowMe E-Line controller.
• Guest cards give the chance to create strict rules how many cards the user, including cases of loss of the card can have. Such time cards can be nullified at the end of the day and be used again without additional costs.
• Support of different producers in the new client who is built in (embedded) is implemented in this release for Canon, OKI and Samsung. In addition to them HP, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Lexmark, Ricoh, Sharp, Toshiba, Xerox are supported.
• Support of Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 is improved.

In addition to innovations, technologies of rendering of documents in FollowMe Mobile Printing (mobile printing), including functions of automation and a processing rule are considerably optimized: the choice of one-sided/two-sided printing at the time of rendering, but not printings that causes compliance to the set politicians. It should be noted also automatic size variation of the document when using other size of printing paper, the improved output quality of documents when rendering for documents of all types and also the accelerated rendering, including support of simultaneous processing of several documents and many other things.

The client who is built in (embedded) supports all new models of printing devices now, and even changes the screen size if necessary.

Import of users the assistant/manager and also new types of fields for the choice of language turns on the improved support of fields. Besides, new import of printers allows to import data from both Windows servers, the CSV or XML files for easier integration with the environment which is available for the customer, as well as simplifies deployment.

Within the analysis of business data in the new version of the solution there were additional functions for a bigger flexibility according to constantly changing requirements of the customer for integration of processes with business. Also abilities to integrate for implementation of "guest printing", and the status of queue of incoming documents for the LPR tasks and also blocking of queue for the LPR and IPP tasks, now configured became simpler.

The number of the configured filters and their combinations is increased up to 2000 that allows to create any necessary report including and the choice of additional fields of properties of printers. For the purpose of increase in accuracy of determination of type of the application new standard values and also an opportunity to define own types for use in reports are added. An expanded set of data fields for ensuring convenience of reading reports from the screen and export in the CSV or XML formats to third-party applications for billing.

In the updated FollowMe 6.1 job accounting on printing in the PCL and PostScript formats is optimized, the built-in support of accounting for documents in the XPS format at their sending appeared directly to the port of the printer. Editing a register supports change of a name of the document, including the existing options of editing other custom attributes now that is convenient for the organizations requiring the high level of security and compliance to requirements of the legislation.

It became even simpler to administer the new version of the solution: search capabilities are expanded, including additional fields for search in the user, the printer or other system data and localization of FollowMe Embedded, Web Client and Web Administration Tools for different languages is expanded (with a full support of Russian). Besides, there were new options of a task of a priority over settings of a system that facilitates setup under specific requirements of the customer.

Ringdale FollowMe issued the open API platform

On September 25, 2014 the companies OKI also Ringdale announced release of the joint integrated software solution on the basis of Ringdale FollowMe software for OKI printers from opened API- the platform (OKI sXP), including series of MC700, MB700 and ES94x5 devices.

The solution FollowMe developed for OKI provides the intuitive user interface providing job control on printing, accounting and control of users, management of printing cost - directly from the MFP control panel. The product will allow the organizations to have the maximum opportunities for optimization of function of printing, protection of the valuable data, reductions of operating expenses.
