AF150 S3
On November 14, 2019 the Fujitsu company announced release to the updated and expanded line a flash arrays of ETERNUS AF S3 and hybrid DWH of ETERNUS DX S5. The generation of storage systems developed for digitalization support, provided has the optimized performance for simple management of large volumes of data, constantly active applications and complex workloads and, along with it, provides high efficiency of storage for the maximum cost reduction.
According to the producer, a flash arrays of the initial ETERNUS AF150 S3 level the storage functions of data integrating in themselves and high performance at the affordable price, are suitable for the small companies and branches of large corporations. This DWH optimized for ultralow response time can store data up to 92 TB. The ETERNUS AF150 S3 systems differ in simplicity of deployment and management and are completely compatible to all models within the ETERNUS family. It allows the companies to scale easily the infrastructure of data storage and to use several solutions for data storage using the uniform unified control interface.
ETERNUS DX900 S5, according to the statement of the producer, represents hybrid DWH of the average corporate level which provides high performance at the attractive price. She supports a scaling option to 4 controllers and offers a sufficient stock of resources for the majority of scenarios of use. The model can store up to 70 PB of data and process more than one million transactions of input-output per second. Due to use of hardware accelerators of data compression with this system provides high efficiency of work, and replication features, mirroring and failure recovery provide continuous availability of corporate data.
Also the Fujitsu company provided third generation a flash arrays of ETERNUS AF and fifth generation of hybrid DWH of ETERNUS DX. The Fujitsu company strengthened the ETERNUS AF S3 and ETERNUS DX S5 systems a large number of computing resources, faster and capacious system memory, NVMe cache memory for hybrid DWH of the average level and also technologies of deduplication and data compression with hardware acceleration. It, according to the developer, allowed to increase performance and scalability of crucial DWH for DPC, branches of the companies and the companies of small and medium business, providing reliable support for the most resource-intensive analytical and business applications.
As noted in Fujitsu, management of all solutions for data storage of ETERNUS becomes simpler using software of management of Fujitsu ETERNUS SF. ETERNUS SF offers powerful functions of monitoring within the intuitive interface, including functions for the distributed storage (replication, migration and work of clusters of data storage) for all a flash arrays and hybrid DWH which differs in simple and transparent licensing.
To help customers to maximize return from investments into solutions for data storage, Fujitsu developed the special warranty program for ETERNUS. It includes ensuring zero idle time in work, data compression and 100% availability of SSD drives, and support of a possibility of expansion of storage system as required, claim in Fujitsu.

As a part of the joint solution of Fujitsu and Veeam for backup and data recovery
On May 14, 2019 the Fujitsu company reported that together with Veeam set for themselves the task to simplify backup operation and data recovery for the companies using crucial virtual machines in data processing centers. The solution will allow to increase data availability and to accelerate recovery in case of an exit of systems out of operation. 2018: AF250 S2 и AF650 S2
The Fujitsu company in January, 2018 announced a flash DWH of Eternus AF S2 release of the next generation. The provided storage systems satisfy customers need in the high speed of calculations for ensuring continuity of work and growth of digital business.
The Eternus AF systems will help to migrate easily from hybrid DWH on a flash system. AF250 S2 and AF650 S2 models are equipped a cache memory of bigger volume and faster processors, support Fibre Channel technologies 32 GB and use the high-optimized algorithms for multi-core and multithreaded processors. Due to these system performance optimize operation of applications which need the high speed of a response of storage system. Thanks to performance which increased by 30%, the Eternus systems provide small response time when using a system with analytical and other crucial applications, including the SAP HANA platforms. They will allow the companies to adapt to rapid growth of the stored data and to consolidate them, claim in Fujitsu.
The storage system of the average level of Eternus AF650 S2 supports the volume of the raw data at the level of 3 PB on one system, occupying only a half of a rack in DPC. According to the results of the reference SPC test published on January 19, 2018 the ratio of cost and speed of work for AF650 S2 makes $0.27/SPC-1 of IOPS.
DWH of Eternus AF250 S2 represents optimal a flash system for the companies of small and medium business thanks to a ratio "the work cost/speed" at the level of $0.10/SPC-1 of IOPS.
Both models support modern types of solid state drives that allows to increase data warehouse capacity in addition.
Fujitsu Eternus AF support technologies of deduplication and data compression therefore customers have additional opportunities for control of necessary capacity and the expenses on IT. All existing and new Eternus AF systems can be controlled using uniform software for management of DWH — Eternus SF. Practically in all models functions of mirroring and replication of data, as well as reserve switching without stopping of work are implemented. They are present both at new, and at the old systems that protects investments of the company. The hybrid systems it is possible to apply a flash arrays to recovery, reducing costs on maintenance of continuity of work.

Fujitsu Eternus AF650 certification for SAP HANA
In June, 2017 Fujitsu announced that its flash array ETERNUS AF650 received certification of SAP as the solution for data storage of the corporate level of the SAP HANA platform. The array is offered as in the form of the separate solution and as a part of the integrated PRIMEFLEX system for SAP HANA. ETERNUS AF650 ensures exclusive reliability and continuous functioning of the computing systems processing data in RAM. The array supports work of the complexes having up to 12 TB RAM and the general capacity of data storage up to 3 PB.
Flash drives are even more often used for ensuring work of corporate applications and databases, and ultralow response time of an array of ETERNUS AF650 of Fujitsu company increases the processing speed of workloads of the SAP HANA platform. Besides, the high level of availability and integrity of data is provided. The upgraded system shows lower level of electricity consumption, allowing the companies to reduce operating expenses.
The array of ETERNUS AF650 takes less places in DPC in comparison with the systems of the previous generation, at the same time the volume of the data warehouse remained at the previous level. Capacity of a system can be increased in addition using the technologies of deduplication and data compression developed by Fujitsu company. Fujitsu integrated DWH the initial ETERNUS AF250 level into own solution PRIMEFLEX vShape, providing the maximum capacity stored on a flash data media up to 740 TB. Due to higher capacity it is possible to start the bigger number of the virtual machines placed on one system now. The solution PRIMEFLEX vShape received certification of software for virtualization from market leaders, including the companies VMware and Microsoft. The solution PRIMEFLEX vShape is also available to delivery about a flash system NetApp FAS.

Fujitsu Eternus AF650 testing
On February 20, 2017 the Fujitsu company announced carrying out the industry test for DWH of Fujitsu Eternus AF650. A flash DWH showed good results and gained official recognition of performance measures.
The flash array of Fujitsu Eternus AF650 is characterized by the modern level of high-speed performance and automatic control of service quality, it allows to use most effectively a system and to accelerate an investment payback. 2016: Fujitsu Eternus AF is a flash DWH
On October 2, 2016 Fujitsu provided the storage system (SS) the modules using only a flash memory.
Processors and network equipment support the high speed of work of IT infrastructure sufficient for functioning of resource-intensive, fast applications and processing of the permanent growing amount of data. The traditional method of data storage on hard drives (HDD) is not capable to conform to the changing requirements. Solving this problem of compliance of technologies of Fujitsu developed Eternus AF storage system on the basis of solid state drives (Solid State Drive, SSD).
We bring the ultrafast storage systems which are completely created based on a flash memory and having the low cost of operation to the market. At the time of release of Fujitsu offers two models of the Eternus AF family. The flagman Eternus AF650 model supports up to 256 GB of a system memory and up to 96 drives SSD. The general capacity of storage is 368 TB, formatted capacity – 1843 TB. The Eternus AF250 model supports 64 GB of a system memory, to 24 drives SSD and 92 TB general / 460 TB formatted capacities. Calculations are based on an expected ratio of deduplication and data compression at the level of 5:1.
Storage systems of Eternus AF are available to the order. Delivery is planned for the end of October, 2016. Cost differs over the countries, models and configurations.
