GFI MailSecurity 2011
Generic collection of tools for protection of communication by e-mail from a broad spectrum of threats. The offered system uses several modern anti-virus solutions for fast and accurate check of the entering and outgoing correspondence, detects the spy software, implements careful scanning of HTML documents and file investments.
The new version of GFI MailSecurity brings to attention of users the whole set of improvements among which – the dashboards providing to administrators access to the bigger number of indicators and magazines, more careful scanning of internal correspondence and advanced mechanisms of verification of the attached files.
In the new version of GFI MailSecurity 2011 are implemented:
- Function of verification of links: GFI MailSecurity, using the powerful AVG Link Scanning mechanism, checks not only the text of the letter, but also the reference which in it are contained, for availability of malware to the specified addresses.
- The improved dashboard: all necessary information is available in one section of a dashboard to fast and complete assessment of the situation.
- Exceptions for HTML Sanitizer: it is possible to configure lists of the permitted tags and codes in HTML-letters for ignoring them when checking by the HTML Sanitizer filter.
- Complete check of internal correspondence: distribution of the malware through internal mail became impossible – each letter undergoes GFI MailSecurity testing.
- Check of investments: the thin setup of verification of the attached files including blocking on file size and also on types of files which are located according to links in the letter became possible.
- Economy of traffic: all updates for GFI MailSecurity including relevant anti-virus bases are delivered in the optimized and compressed type that accelerates both their delivery, and installation.
The solution GFI MailSecurity 2011 is based on Norman AV's Sandbox Technology technology which assumes start of potentially dangerous investments and the analysis of activity of the suspicious code in the isolated environment. Thus, a system identifies any signs of harmful activity and blocks dangerous applications before they are able to do harm to the user systems. Connection of the anti-virus module from AVG available as an optional component, allows the product GFI MailSecurity 2011 to detect links to the hacker websites and the malware hidden in a body of messages.
The GFI MailSecurity 2011 application learned to block file investments on the basis of their size. The HTML Sanitizer component which is responsible for deactivation of HTML tags and forms in incoming messages maintains lists of exceptions. Thanks to this new option of the message from the checked sources can avoid additional scanning.
GFI MailSecurity functions running the Windows Server 2008 and 2003 operating system and Microsoft Exchange is suitable for joint work with many widespread mail servers, for example.
