2025: Product Announcement
On November 23, 2025, Japanese manufacturer Shoei unveiled the GT-Air 3 Smart, the world's first fully integrated augmented reality helmet. The development was the result of Shoei's partnership with French company EyeLights, known for its innovative motor engineering projects.
According to EyeLights, the key feature of the novelty is the integration of the projection display (HUD) directly into the Vizor. The third generation technology from EyeLights projects key information - speed, navigation tips, call and warning data - into the field of view of the motorcyclist at a virtual distance of 3 m. According to the manufacturer, this solution allows you to reduce the driver's reaction time by 32%.
Particular attention is paid to the readability of the display in difficult conditions. The Nano-OLED screen retains image clarity in Full HD resolution even in direct sunlight, which solves the traditional HUD system problem.
In addition to the augmented reality system, the helmet is equipped with a universal intercom with an unlimited range and compatibility with devices of various brands. Communication is supported both online and via mesh networks. The speaker system includes a noise canceling microphone and support for Siri and Google voice assistants. The autonomy of the device exceeds 10 hours.
The GT-Air 3 Smart is available in five colors with sizes from S to XXL. The novelty has retained the traditional qualities of Shoei: the AIM multi-layer composite case meets DOT and ECE safety standards of 22.06. The helmet is complemented by a Defogger ventilation system, a retractable sun visor and is compatible with Pinlock anti-flooding films.
According to New Atlas, against the background of competitors - Sena Phantom ($499) and Cardo Beyond GTS ($1199) - the Shoei product stands out for its unique HUD system, while its analogues are focused mainly on communication functions.[1][2]
