Gemalto ePassport

In September, 2017 Gemalto announced that its solution ePassport is used more than in 30 countries worldwide. The solution allows state bodies to enhance internal security and also provides comfortable intersection of frontiers.

The solution ePassport was introduced into circulation in 2005 and is used for release of 57% of valid passports; it offers the improved protection against fraud thanks to the built-in protected microprocessor storing personal data of the owner and the digital photo. Electronic passports contain the standardized electronic portrait of the owner of the passport for the system of face recognition that allows to use a broad spectrum of the automated services of self-service for passengers of the airport: since registration and finishing with passing of border control and landing that, in turn, simplifies the procedure of arrival and departure of passengers.

Travel documents are made of polycarbonate of pages with data, the explicit and hidden means for protection of documents, covers for the electronic passport and also the firm ware compatible to ICAO.
