The project which is known as Google Contact Lens represents a contact lens: being implanted into an eye, it replaces a natural crystalline lens of an eye (which collapses in this process) and adapts, correcting poor eyesight. The lens fastens to an eye using the same material which is used by production of soft contact lenses, and has a set of practical medical applications — like reading of blood pressure of patients with glaucoma, glucose levels at patients with diabetes or wireless updating taking into account deteriorations in sight of the patient.
According to estimates of specialists in 2016, an artificial eye of Google can recover sight completely. Of course, it is yet not the camera which is implanted directly to you into eyes, but say that to it everything goes. Besides, for June, 2016 not clear when the lens appears in the market. But the patent was taken out, and clinical trials confirmed a possibility of the procedure[1].
