The Google company officially in March, 2012 announced the first official release of the open Go programming language.
The open Go programming language was for the first time announced by Google company in November, 2009 Go - it is experimental language which should integrate in itself(himself) the high performance and safety of C ++ with the speed of dynamic programming languages, such as Python. The Go project includes a programming language, a set of compilers and special libraries which allow to include in the Go programs a number of the built-in functions.
"In November, 2009 the Google company announced the project of the open Go language. Since then more than 200 third-party specialists made thousands of corrections and adding in the language digit and documentation and also made the contribution to its testing. The open community became one of the most important components of success of Go. Today we with the great pleasure announce that the Go project reached the first stable release - Go version 1", said in the official statement of Internet giant.
According to them, the release of Go 1 became result of months-long work on amendments of the specification, improvement of implementation of a programming language, improvement of its universality and portability and setup of standard library. As developers note, Go 1 has rich potential for future growth. The programs written in this language already now should work reliably for many years.
Go 1 is available in the form of binary packets to Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD and other platforms. The first official release has a number of corrections and improvements in comparison with working versions. So, in it there was a special go fix utility which function is automation of reduction of old source codes to the current language standard. Now developers when using the Go language can refuse application of files of Makefile and assembly scripts – all necessary information is taken directly from the source code of the program.
As representatives of community of creators of Go note, also along with Go 1 the release of the new version of the Google App Engine SDK tool kit intended for creating applications for App Engine which was processed for support of new opportunities of Go 1 took place.
