Google Play Services

Google Play Services — (as of August, 2017) is the platform intended for integration of products of Google, such as Google+ in the Android-applications.

Google Play Services consists of the system service working on the device and the thin client. As the thin client the application of the user with the connected client library acts.^[1]

Nearby Connections can work at outdate Android devices, including OS of the version of Jelly Bean (4.x). For work of API it is required to set Google Play Services of version 11.0 or above. Developers can publish the programs with support of Nearby Connections in Google Play.
